Ahmad Shapoor Nooristani

Ambassador for Oqab (2nd SOK)


Ahmad Shapoor Nooristani is an accomplished military leader who served as the Operations Deputy Director for the Afghan Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) in Kabul. He was born in Do Aab District, Nooristan Province and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 2010 at Joint Special Operations Command Corps.


During his distinguished career, Shapoor served in various positions of increasing responsibility within the Afghan National Security Forces. He first served as a Mortar Platoon Commander, Headquarters Company, 6th Strategic Battalion, Special Operations Division from 2010 to 2012.
He then went on to become the Company Commander at the School of Excellence (SOE at Camp Morehead also known as Camp Commando in 2013, which was responsible for assessing, selecting, and developing future Afghan Special Operations Forces. He next served as 2nd Platoon Commander, 1st Company, 2nd Battalion at Camp Commando from 2014 until 2015.


Shapoor’s exceptional leadership skills led him to be appointed as Operations Officer at Joint Special Operation Coordination Center (JSOCC) from 2015 until 2017, and then as Combined Situational Awareness Room (CSAR) Floor Director at Camp Alpha, Bagram Air Force Base from 2018 to 2019. He graduated from Officers Training Academy in Chennai, India and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Law from National University in Kabul.


Shapoor is a highly decorated veteran, having completed several military courses such as the Jordan Commando course, Afghan Commando course, Egypt Special Operations course, U.S. Infantry Basic Officers Course, Afghan Infantry Captains Career Course, and U.S Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) at Ft. Leavenworth. His military decorations include the Afghan Emblem, Brave Soldiers Medal, President’s Medal, and several appreciation letters from the Afghan Defense Ministry, Chief of Army General Staff. and numerous international counterparts.


Currently residing in Kansas City, Missouri, Shapoor serves as the Regional Ambassador for Afghan Special Operations veterans who live in California, Colorado, Washington State, Missouri, Kansas, Utah, and Idaho. He is happily married to Seerat Nooristani and is a proud father to his daughter (9) and son (5). His goal is to advocate for the rights and well-being of his fellow Afghan Special Forces Veterans, ensuring they receive the support and resources they need to thrive in civilian life. Additionally, he seeks to pursue additional education or skill development to enhance his career opportunities and open new doors for professional growth in the U.S.
